Student Engineers' Council at Virginia Tech

Director of Philanthropy

The Student Engineers' Council (SEC) is the student-led organization that represents the Virginia Tech College of Engineering. Serving more than 10,000 engineering students, SEC strengthens the engineering community by organizing major events such as Engineering Exposition, Engineers' Week, and Engineers' Ball, while also providing approximately $300,000 in annual philanthropy funding to Virginia Tech design teams, engineering organizations, and faculty projects.

Director of Philanthropy

As the Director of Philanthropy for the Student Engineers' Council, I lead the organization's year-round philanthropy efforts by overseeing the reimbursement processing for more than $300,000 in annual funding. I coordinate the semiannual funding cycles, during which reimbursement requests are evaluated and approved to ensure they meet SEC funding guidelines.

I also serve as the primary point of contact for 103 funded engineering organizations, holding twice-weekly office hours to answer questions about the reimbursement process and funding policies. In addition, I help support SEC's major events throughout the year, including Virginia Tech Engineering Exposition, Engineers' Week, and Engineers' Ball.

First Year Experience Committee

As a member of the First-Year Experience Committee, I helped plan and organize social and professional events that connected first-year engineering students with their peers and the Virginia Tech engineering community. These events included a March Madness bracket challenge, a pickleball tournament, and the annual First-Year Social.
